ABOUT LIFT THEM UP FOUNDATION
In Tanzania many children are left helpless and hopeless with no one to stand up for them and care for them. Lift Them Up Foundation was created to help, Youth, women & children who their parents/parent has died, as well as children whose parents are too poor to care for them properly.We give our children more than care – we give them a sense of family, an education, Physical requirement and hope for their futures. WHAT WE DO
EDUCATION
We are committed in promoting the education sector in the country to reach a large number of poor children living in rural areas .Despite the efforts of the Tanzanian government in fighting ignorance its not yet done. Apart from primary and secondary education we are focusing more on vocational education especially for those who did not have access to formal education.
HEALTH
The health of our community is our priority because without good health they will not be able to do anything to improve their lives and they will not be able to achieve their dreams. We are focusing on insisting of balance diet.In addition to providing nutrition education, we are also aiming to provide poor children with health insurance
AGRICULTURE
We are teaching our community to use biological materials, avoiding synthetic substances to maintain soil fertility and ecological balance thereby minimizing pollution and wastage, We are determined to be more involved in food and vegetable production, which the farmer will cultivate for a short period of time.
DAY CARE & NURSERY
The school started with one class of six students and one teacher. The education program applies to 3 – 5 years children. Our nursery school is oriented towards developing children’s ability in all spheres of learning throughout the nursery school years and preparing children to start formal education.
Lift Them Up Foundation (LITU) has two founders,and today meet Lilian Sabuni one among the founder of Lift Them Up foundation, ,her mother died when she was primary five,since there she was taking by her grandma Neatness, her grandma raised her,giving her education untill she was able to graduate Bachelor of Arts in Community Economic Development.Her grandma got some support from her friends from Sweden where they sponsored Lilian untill she became independent and adult young woman.
